Age - Purchasing & Use
Airsoft guns are classified as Realistic Imitation Firearms (RIF's) - although many people consider them toys, they are classified as RIF under law. As such, they are governed by age restrictions (as well as some restrictions for use).
You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase an airsoft device, however there is no age for ownership in Ireland. As such you can buy an airsoft device and gift it to anyone.
If you are under the age of 18, please do not continue with any purchase from airsoft.ie
Airsoft.ie recommends adult supervision any time an airsoft device is used by anyone under the age of 18
Airsoft in the Republic of Ireland
Airsoft guns in Ireland can be used on private property (outside of public sight and access), or on dedicated skirmish grounds. Typically you have to be 13+ to play airsoft on site, however there is no age restriction for backyard plinking.
Outside of Ireland
Around the world there are different laws, restrictions, and guidelines for airsoft guns, and their use. You are responsible to make sure that the airsoft device you are looking at complies with your own local laws and restrictions. Airsoft.ie are not liable in the event of customs siezure.
Transportation
Airsoft guns/devices should never be carried in a public place unless in transit when it should be unloaded and placed in a carrier type bag. Airsoft guns/devices should never be concealed on ones person. Brandishing a replica firearm in a public place is a criminal offence.
